Growing an Herbal Tea Garden

Consider adding the medicinal and culinary benefits of herbs into your garden and landscape this season!  Kara Buchanan, Co-director of Spoonful Herbals shares her decades of herb gardening experience and some of her favorite plants suitable for our Vermont climate for making delicious teas and quality medicine.  We’ll discuss plant and site selection, trees, shrubs, perennials and annuals, propagation techniques,  flavor and medicinal qualities, best harvesting practices, and suggestions for drying and storage of your harvests.  We’ll also share a medicine making lesson on making quality teas from both fresh and dried plant material.

This event is held at the Shelburne Farms Farm Barn.
